Richmond VA Bed and Breakfast

Guest rooms upgraded!

The latest in bedding technology has arrived in the William Miller House guest rooms.   Beautyrest Black Label(tm) Beverly Hills(tm) Pillow Top mattresses are now in place. Preliminary feedback indicates that, not only do our guests feel completely rested in the morning; they are a little bit, ok, a lot, spoiled.  These luxurious mattresses feature opulent fabrics like all natural modal yarn with cashmere, generous layers of soft, memory foam, gentle and enveloping pillow tops and stronger, motion dampening Advanced Pocketed Coil(tm) springs.

Sleep a night or two on ours and should you decide to replace your mattress and box spring at home you may order one just like ours at http://www.realrewardsonline.com or by calling Toll Free (866) 926-8186.

We have topped our mattresses with 600 thread count sheets to indulge you even more.  If you slept well with us the last time you were here; we are very sure once you lie down and close your eyes, you will wonder how you ever slept before!

Spring is just around the corner!

The star magnolias are full of buds and many have already popped open.   Daffodils are about 6 inches high, some have even bloomed already.  The Cornelian Cherry is full of yellow blossoms and purple crocuses dot the flower beds.  The spring camellias will soon be out.  Despite an occasional very short cold spell, spring has already descended on central Virginia.  Now is a great time to plan that get-away to the William Miller House Bed and Breakfast.

Easter on Parade

Easter on Parade, the beloved Richmond tradition of parading down scenic Monument Avenue continues this year Sunday, March 23, 1 to 5 PM! Join more than 35,000 people as they converge upon the four-block site between Allen and Davis Street to celebrate the arrival of spring. Music on every block, arts, crafts, childrens activities, food, people and dog watching are all part of the celebration. Two highlights of the annual event are the Pet Bonnet and People Bonnet Showcases on the Main Stage at Allen Avenue. For more information call (804) 788-6466 or visit www.venturerichmond.com.

Impressionist Exhibit opens at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

LANDSCAPES FROM THE AGE OF IMPRESSIONISM
February 22 thru May 11, 2008

This exhibition of forty French and American paintings represents some of the finest examples of late nineteenth and early twentieth-century landscapes in the renowned collection of the Brooklyn Museum.
The earliest works in the exhibition, dating from the 1850s and 1860s, demonstrate the impact of progressive, plein-air sketching practices on French landscape painting. They include important imagery by Barbizon and Realist painters, such as Charles Francois Daubigny, Henri-Joseph Harpignies and Gustave Courbet.

Tickets to the exhibition may be ordered on line at https://tickets.vmfa.museum/public/show_events_list.asp.  An audio guide for your cell phone is available for selected works in the exhibition.

VMFA and Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden are cooperating in a special offer for those who attend the Landscapes exhibition. Those who present a ticket stub from Landscapes will receive two admissions for the price of one to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. And those who present a ticket stub from the Garden will receive two admissions for the price of one to the Landscapes exhibition. Members of both VMFA and the Garden are eligible for this offer, which will expire May 1.
